The goal of this dashboard was to analyze and identify the factors that significantly affect the cost of health insurance for an individual in US.

  • Data: 1338 rows of insured data, with insurance charges against the attributes of Age, Sex, BMI, Number of Children, Smoker, and Region

  • Insights: Found factors that significantly affect health insurance costs, including gender, smoking status, BMI, age, and region.

  • Goal: Analyze the relationship between insured attributes & health insurance charges, provide valuable insights for health insurance companies & individuals

  • Skills: Exploratory Data Analysis, Data Visualization, Dashboard Creation

Overall the dashboard summarizes the data to highlight the following insights:

  • On average, females have lower health insurance.
  • On average, smokers have a higher health insurance cost compared to non-smokers regardless of age.
  • Southeast US has the highest price for average health insurance.
  • There is no significant difference in healthcare insurance cost based on the number of children.
  • On average, individuals who smoke and have a higher BMI have significantly higher insurance price.
  • Seniors have a much higher insurance rate compared to younger individuals.
