Community Forum Policy

Welcome to the Maven Analytics User Community Forum!

This User Community Forum Policy provides important information about your use of the Maven Analytics User Community Forums, including our course discussion boards and direct chat (the “User Communities”). Your participation in any of the User Communities is subject to this policy and our standard Terms of Service, unless you have executed a services agreement with us, in which case your participation is governed by this policy and that agreement. In the event of a conflict between the Terms of Service (or your services agreement with us, if you have one) and this policy, this policy will control with respect to the User Communities and your use thereof. If we use capitalized terms in this policy that aren’t defined in this policy, they will have the meaning set forth in the Terms of Service (or your services agreement with us, if you have one).


We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to update, modify, change or replace any portion of these Terms at any time. We will notify you of such changes via email or via a prominent posting in the User Communities.


We are excited to offer User Communities to our customers. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable privilege to enter and use the User Communities, provided that you comply with the terms of Policy and any other agreements you have in place with us. In order to participate in the User Communities, you must agree to the Terms of Service (or your services agreement with us, if you have one) and have a valid account with us for Services. Please remember, to register for an account, you must be 18 or over. If you are under 13 years of age, you may not use the User Communities. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction (typically 18 years of age), you may use the User Communities only with the consent of your parent or guardian, provided such parent or legal guardian also agrees to be bound by this Policy and agrees to be responsible for your use of the User Communities and your User Contributions.

When you sign up to use the User Communities, you will need to create an alias associated with your account. Please make sure your alias does not contain any personal information (such as your name or email address). Please also make sure that your alias is not offensive or otherwise inappropriate. If we determine that your alias is offensive or inappropriate, we may remove it and any User Contributions associated with the alias.

We love receiving feedback from our users, but please remember that your submission of feedback to us is completely voluntary. If you send us your send questions, feedback, ideas, suggestions, or recommendations in the User Communities (collectively, “Feedback”) regarding the User Communities, our Site, our Content and/or the Services, you agree that we may, at any time, without restriction fully exploit in any medium any Feedback that you provide to us. Feedback is not confidential. We are and shall be under no obligation (1) to pay compensation for any Feedback; or (2) to respond to any Feedback.

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to update, modify, change or replace any portion of User Communities at any time, or to stop offering the User Communities completely.


Within the User Communities, you may be able to submit content, posts, questions, comments, and materials (“User Contributions”). If you choose to post a User Contribution, please make sure that the post is on-topic and relates to the Services provided by us. Any User Contribution you post to the User Communities will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. Other users will be able to see your User Contributions. Please be polite to the other users, and post only constructive questions and comments.

You acknowledge that User Contributions posted to the User Communities are the sole responsibility of the person who posted the User Contribution. We are not responsible for, and we do not endorse, the opinions, advice, suggestions or recommendations posted by users in any User Community and we have no liability in connection with any User Contributions. You acknowledge that your use of any User Contributions is at your own risk.

You understand and acknowledge that you are responsible for any User Contributions you submit. You represent that all User Contributions provided by you are in compliance with this Policy. You warrant and represent that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to the information contained in your User Contributions.

By providing any User Contribution, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, fully paid-up, sublicensable, transferable license and right to use, edit, truncate, aggregate, reproduce, modify, perform, display, distribute, prepare derivative works of, and otherwise fully exploit the User Contributions. Except where prohibited by applicable law, by submitting User Contributions, you are waiving and agreeing not to assert any copyrights or “moral” rights resulting from our use of or alteration to the User Contributions. If you do not wish to grant us these rights, do not submit User Contributions.


Your use of the User Communities and your submission of User Contributions must comply with all applicable federal, state, local and international laws and regulations. Without limiting the foregoing, User Contributions must not:

  1. contain any personal information or personal data;
  2. contain any confidential information;
  3. reference descriptions of processes or tools that break or otherwise work around the intended use of any software product, or would be in violation of the products license agreement;
  4. be intended to disrupt the User Communities or the software used to provide the User Communities;
  5. contain any material which is defamatory, obscene, indecent, abusive, offensive, harassing, violent, hateful, inflammatory or otherwise objectionable;
  6. contain sexually explicit or pornographic material;
  7. discriminate based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age;
  8. infringe any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other intellectual property or proprietary rights of any other person;
  9. contain or distribute viruses, worms, Trojan horses, corrupted files, hoaxes, or other malicious software code;
  10. violate the legal rights (including the rights of publicity and privacy) of others;
  11. contain any material that could give rise to any civil or criminal liability under applicable laws or regulations;
  12. be fraudulent, knowingly false, or likely to deceive any person;
  13. promote any illegal activity or assist with any unlawful act;
  14. impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or organization;
  15. advertise, sell or market products or services, or promote contests, sweepstakes and other sales promotions;
  16. give the impression that they are endorsed by us; or
  17. otherwise be in conflict with this Policy or our Terms of Use.


We have the right to edit, modify, remove or refuse to post any User Contributions for any or no reason in our sole discretion. We may suspend your access to the User Communities without notice if we determine that you are in violation of this Policy or any other agreements with us. Notwithstanding our rights set forth above, we cannot and do not undertake to review all User Contributions before or after they are posted on the Services and cannot ensure prompt removal of objectionable material after it has been posted. Accordingly, we assume no liability for any action or inaction regarding transmissions, communications or content provided by any user or third party. We have no liability or responsibility to anyone for performance or nonperformance of the activities described in this section.


We respect intellectual property rights. If you are a copyright owner or exclusive copyright holder, or are authorized to act on behalf of one, and believe that any material available in the User Communities infringes upon your copyrights, please submit a notification of the alleged copyright infringement to the contact provided below in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") by providing all the following information: (1) the full legal name and a physical or electronic signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner/exclusive licensor; (2) identification of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works at a single online site are covered by this the notification, a representative list of the copyrighted works; (3) identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing (or to be the subject of infringing activity) and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material (including URL(s) if possible); (4) your name, address, telephone number, email address, and/or any other information reasonably sufficient to allow us to contact you. Your notification must also include statements regarding the following: (A) You have good faith believe that use of the material in the manner described in this notification is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and (B) the information contained in this notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed. You acknowledge that if you fail to comply with all the requirements above, your DMCA notice may not be valid. Please see 17 U.S.C. § 512 for more information regarding the DMCA and DMCA notifications. We also recommend that you consider consulting legal counsel.
