Diversity & Inclusion of Employees in a Company Workspace

About this project

After completing the first phase of the call centre analytics of a hypothetical Telecom company and the second phase related to customer retention analysis, my Power BI Virtual Case Experience Program concluded by completing the last phase related to the Analysis of Workforce Diversity in a Company Workspace

Objective

  • Approached by a telecom company to enhance gender balance and multicultural workforce at top management by creating a dashboard that highlights KPIs in:

    1. Hiring
    2. Promotion
    3. Employee Performance
    4. Employee Turnover
  • To provide them with a solution to identify the status of diversity and inclusion of employees.

  • Evaluate the bottlenecks

Procedure

For this project, I have used SQL Server Management Studio as a backstage for cleaning and prepping the data before loading it into the Power BI canvas for further analysis. Changes such as replacing and splitting values in a column were made in the Employees Table. In addition, a table called Measures Table was created to include all the measures in one table. It consists of one column, namely the ID column. Once the tables were cleaned and prepped, it was loaded into the canvas using Direct Query. In the Data Model view, the ID column of the Measures Table was connected to the ID column of the Employees Table, creating a one-to-many relationship with a single filter between the two tables. Subsequently, I created a set of measures to derive the KPIs but I wanted to view them to understand and satisfy my primary objective: to know the status of diversity and inclusion in a workspace. So, I made a dashboard containing a variety of visuals to view the KPIs and provided my insights on the same.

The static images of the dashboard are revealed below (Click on the image to view it.)
