Project Scope

This project is an evolution of the Excel Financial Reporting project.

The client decided to invest in Power BI and ask to deploy the existing Excel Financial Reporting in Power BI Service with some changes:

• Deploy the current Financial Reporting with custom KPI card based on P&L / BS selection
• Add a P&L bridge visualization
• Drop off the existing TWC graph
• Add a statement of Cash Flow with a KPI showing the net cash flow conversion rate

Report Development

Import in Power Bi

As I've already developed a report in Excel with Power Pivot I can start importing it in Power Bi and made some changes.

The data source is still based on Excel file, but stored on a Share Point repository.

Cash Flow Layout

As this report should include a Statement of Cash Flow I provide to design a new layout and add a mapping to the CoA. I even added a flag to the Cash Flow and the P&L layout for conditional formatting as it works differently from Excel

For the measure and the margin calculation I've used the same approach of the Excel project.

Final Deployment and Maintenance

The report was deployed on PBI Service. To guarantee the data accuracy I made a monthly scheduled refresh.
